New Sport Mansory Porsche Panamera Power Pack

Masonry Switzerland is a specialist for fine-tuning Porsches in the Zuffenhausen Gran Turismo. Devoting itself into developing the Porsche Panamera Turbo, they enhanced it through a performance and aesthetic package with a twin turbocharged 4.8 liter V8 engine granting 690 horsepower, 590 lb-ft at 4800 rpm of torque and stunning body work.

Mansory Porsche Panamera

Pieces of the car’s bodywork fit perfectly with each other like a puzzle, turning every side of the Masonry enhancement into a vibrant highlight. A new carbon fiber hood is placed on the front of the car, along with a new front apron with modified LED daytime driving lights. The doors are wider, and they suit the new side skirts flawlessly. To the rear of the vehicle is a massive carbon fiber diffuser, and centrally mounted mufflers with double-end pipes. Masonry gives the driver the option to decorate the rear with carbon fiber parts, or to modify it completely with a carbon fiber spoiler. High-durability polyurethane (PU-RIM) and Prepreg-Autoclav-Carbon are the materials used for the vehicle’s aerodynamic enhancements, which is the distinctive material used by the Masonry brand.

Beyond the exhilarating visuals of the car, Masonry also augmented the Panamera Turbo’s 4.8-liter V8 engine. This performance package includes modified engine electronics, huge turbochargers and a stainless steel double end sports muffler. These upgrades raise the vehicle’s engine output to a staggering 690 horsepower / 507 kW, and torque to 590 lb-ft / 800 Nm at 4800 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4 seconds, and the vehicle can reach top speeds of 328 km/h.

The wheel-tire combination is custom-built specifically for this high-performance vehicle. The set includes four lightweight 22-inch forged wheel-in-turbine design rims. The front of the car is carried by a pair of 9-inch wide Dunlop SP SportMaxx tires with dimensions of 265/30ZR22, while the rear of the car is carried by two 10-inch wide tires with dimensions of 295/25ZR22 also from Dunlop.

The interior of the car is extensively polished with matching leather and the most precious wood, fine varnish or energetic carbon parts. Aluminum pedals complement the interior together with a newly designed sports steering wheel.

New Sport Ferrari 458 Italia Spider And 612 Scaglietti to be revealed in 2011

Ferrari 458 Italia Spider And 612 Scaglietti

There’s a reason that Ferrari is a household name for any auto enthusiast, and the next couple of years will illustrate just what that reason is with new models just pouring out of the Italian sports car manufacturer.

The beginning of this liberation of models will be the successor for the current 612 Scaglietti. This successor will be unveiled in early 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show, with a Spider version for the Ferrari 458 Italia coming out later that year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The long rumored successor for the Enzo supercar will arrive in early 2012, and the 599 GTB’s replacement, codenamed F152, will arrive in the second half of 2012.

The new 612 has been codenamed F151 and was already rumored to combine a V12 front engine that delivers a total of 550 HP with a 100-HP electric motor at the rear. The result will be a fuel consumption reduction of 35%. As for the 458 Italia Spider, it will feature the same folding hardtop as the California.

New Sport Koenigsegg CCR

Koenigsegg CCR

Koenigsegg CCR is better known as the 'record-breaker'. Yes, the CCR beat the The McLaren F1 supercar, the fastest production car ever built, at Italy's Nardo Prototipo on October 28th 2010, with a breath-taking performance at 387.87 km/h, a 15 km/h increase from the later's past record.

Koenigsegg is an exclusive manufacturer of super sports cars, the latest being the Koenigsegg CCX with a performance speed of 403 km/h. The CC (Competition Coup) led by Koenigsegg is unlikely to be defeated in the near future. The McLaren F1 and Ferrari Enzo supercars still have to come a long way to prove superior in the squad of Production cars. The performance speed of McLaren F1 is 372 km/h and that of Ferrari Enzo is 355 km/h as per the results at Nardo/Prototipo.

Koenigsegg CCR is synonymous with speed. The engineering and design of this sports car substantiate this fact. The aerodynamic body and the lightweight chassis display the main purpose of the vehicle, the speed. The front bumper reminds you the cutting shark with pointed face and deep nostrils. The materials of the body are the lightweight carbon fiber compounds reinforced with Kevlar and aluminum honeycomb. These features ensure the complete safety along with the super speed even in extreme driving conditions. A feather-touch driving experience from Koenigsegg!

Koenigsegg CCR is specially designed considering the tastes of the sporty car customers. The low and broad appearance of the body adds a pleasant feeling of safety; added to this is the fashionably designed semicircular windscreen and organically shaped rear hood. Under roofless driving conditions, the hardtop can be turned to fit under the front bonnet. The whole chassis can be exposed when the hoods and the roof are open; this adds a lot of convenience while inspecting the body.

The most important feature of any sports car is the design of its body. Koenignsegg CCR's body is perfectly symmetrical adding a sense of equilibrium while driving. The gear lever is located at the center point of the supercar. All other important mechanisms are mounted around the steering so as to have a good control over them, and these instruments are visible from the upper spokes of the wheel avoiding unnecessary acrobatics while driving.

A lot more technological additions, such as the cutting edge brakes, new racing shock absorbers, CCR advanced throttle, a monocoque carbonfibre intake plenum, and 19" front wheels, etc., are applied to make Koenigsegg CCR the choice of the leaders.

New Sport Orca SC7

Orca SC7

Orca (much like in Pagani Zonda) uses super-light materials to reduce the weight of this supercar as much as possible. The result is obvious, SC7 weights just 850 kg (1,874 lbs). Its engine produces 738 ft lbs at 4200 rpm torque and outputs 850 horsepower, which sets power to weight ratio to 1 bhp:1 kg. The production of this Swiss supercar is limited to only 7 automobiles.

New Sport Saker Rapx and Sniper

Saker Rapx and Sniper

We haven’t heard from these guys in quite some time now, but Saker, the Dutch automaker specializing on limited-run race cars, is now back with two new offerings: the Rapx and the Sniper. The two cars, unfortunately, are only available for race track purposes, which means that anybody who’d want to buy one won’t be able to bring it out to WalMart to but some groceries.

The two new Saker racers will share the same 2.0-liter Subaru engine that its predecessors have, although the two new racers will be given a sequential transmission as an optional add-on. On the flip side, the Rapx and the Sniper niper are both lighter than the aforementioned GT and Sprint, thus creating a better power-to-weight ratio.

Undoubtedly, the best part about these two cars is the ‘reasonable’ price tag attached to it – about €50,000, or $70,000. For now, though, the two race cars are going to be sold in Europe, although Saker has stated that they’re planning on having international releases soon. It may not be as powerful as other race cars in the world, but if you’re looking for a car to enjoy out on the track on a lazy Saturday afternoon without burning holes in your bank account, the Rapx or the Sniper are two perfectly good choices for you.

New Sport Peugeot EX1 previews future electric

Peugeot EX1 previews future electric

We were able to check out the EX1 electric concept from Peugeot at last month’s Paris Auto Show and although this concept was fun to look at and explore, the look of the overall car didn’t seem like something that would be driving down the road anytime soon. Of course, this concept isn’t just an oversized paper weight, Peugeot has stated that it is a preview for a future sports car from the French company.

In a recent interview, a Peugeot spokesman said: "The EX1 shows that we can do many things with electric cars. It shows how far we can go." The timeline isn’t set in stone just yet, though. Peugeot has no plans to produce an electric sports car "for the time being." However, the spokesman said Peugeot could still one day make a production model EV sports car.

The concept is powered by two electric motors, one on each axle, each with a peak output of 167 HP and a maximum torque of 240 Nm at the front and rear. The same spokesman said the EX1 is thus in the same speed category as Porsche’s 918 Spyder hybrid concept, meaning we could see a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. That is, if this concept doesn’t get lost in the shuffle from now until whenever they are ready to start production

New Sport Mercedes-Benz Concept 358 in Australia

Based in turn on the preparation of the Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG, the German manufacturer has submitted the 358 Concept Salon occasion of Australia (in Sydney), a striking orange color called “Pearl Orange”.

The model presents an extreme preparation, characterized by the AMG Performance Package Plus kit, bringing the power of its V8 to 6.3 liters of displacement, from 457 hp to nothing less, 487 hp. This is also reflected in an increase in torque, which is now 600 Nm.

Mercedes-Benz Concept 358 in Australia

Mercedes-Benz Concept 358 in Australia

Top speed (electronically limited) is in the 250 km / h, with acceleration from 0 to 100 in 4.4 seconds. Your tires are 19-inch multi-link. The most curious, however, is that, despite its striking color, the other components are nothing too “loud”, having a rear spoiler, a diffuser, and redesigned their bumpers as reworked elements, the rest if not for the painting, it could go almost totally unnoticed.

If anyone asks the price of this unit, when there is nothing official, but to give an idea I can say that the C63 AMG kit costs about € 85,724. We can begin to do math.

New Sport Mastretta MXT

Mastretta MXT

Mexico may be known for building most of our vehicles, including supposedly American products, but they haven’t built a true sports car of their own. The good people over at Mastretta are looking to change all of that. The new MXT will be powered by a 2.0-liter Duratec inline-four with a turbocharger that will crank out 250 horsepower and 257 pound-feet of torque. That power should be plenty as the MXT is lightweight and very basic.

The exterior of the car is nothing to write home about, but we hear it looks much better in person. The car uses an aluminum semi-monocoque construction with a carbon fiber belly pan and a steel subframe. Covering all those goodies is a body of fiberglass-reinforced plastic.

The MXT is on its way to Europe with a price of £31,000 and £38,000. While that might seem cheap for a high-performance sports car, take a look at the specs and you’ll change your mind in a heartbeat. The MXT is without ABS, stability control, and airbags, making this machine a deathtrap to the inexperienced driver. Convert that price from pounds to dollars and you’re looking at a vehicle that costs as much as a Ford Mustang GT500.

We can’t be certain that the MXT will be coming to America any time soon, as the company will look to build some sales momentum in Europe first. Not to mention passing emission tests in this country is harder than astrophysics. Still, it might be years behind the Mustang GT500, but it sure will turn more heads than one.

You'd certainly want to be covered against any mishaps in these beauties!

New Sport Nissan Juke 2011

I admit that this preparation of the German H & R will not go down in history for being flashy, but for being one of the first to be made on the mini-SUV Nissan’s compact. The preparations specialist has focused on a fairly discrete changes such as reducing the height of the vehicle (some are experts in spring) of 30 mm, thanks to this: a new set of springs that improves cornering and driving dynamics at high speeds.

They have also included some pins between the wheels (of TRAK, you can see on the image side quite well) that reduces the distance between the tire and the body (or, more precisely, between the tire and fender area), reducing turbulence in the area and improving the performance also when riding fast. Logically, the downside is that it also significantly reduces off-road capability of the Juke.

Nissan Juke 2011
Nissan Juke 2011

The Juke, as did his brother the Qashqai, is reaping many best sellers, despite his short life and nel market. Japan has been quantified in 20,000 requests, while in the U.S. since it went on sale (early month) already has 17,500 orders.

In Europe we find a range of engines of 190 hp with 240 Nm of torque, 1.6-liter gasoline and a model 117 hp with 157 Nm and the same cylinder, in diesel engine there is a 1.5 liter dCi with 110 hp and 240 Nm of torque. In the United States currently offer only the variant of 190 hp turbo gasoline.

Mazda Identity Concept Car

Mazel Identity (1)

The Identity i1 has made concrete a proposal which is not only the answer to the challenge of a new model realization but also to the creation of a new brand, a goal which is not easy to reach today. H2R Design Consulting have studied the concept of the car, developing the design completely in Virtual Reality, and MAZEL-GROUP have executed the physical model. Both companies, located in Barcelona, demonstrate with this project their high technological capacity in the execution of this kind of projects.

The chassis, studied in composite material will be developed with ATR, a prestigious Italian company with a great experience in this field. The development of the body in white (in RTM and composite material) is on its  execution phase by Studio Linea 2 in Turin (Italy) The engine, an aluminum eight cylinder in central position with rear wheel drive with an robotized six gear Gearbox guarantees high performances and an excellent road performance.

Mazel Identity (2)

The exterior, following the best European tradition, is characterized by generous dimensions (4,43m long per 1,92m wide, is only 1,26 m high) combined with the remarkable tires size of 19” in the front and 20” in the rear, gives the car an exclusive and sporty image. Furthermore the strong character of its designs originates not only a “pure race” sports car but also a design able to characterize a whole new brand.

The front part, consisting of three main volumes, have a lower main air intake, clearly inspirited in aeronautical solutions, which is, beyond all doubt, its most important part. The remarkable intakes for the front brake refrigeration makes up a dynamic ensemble with a strong sports character. The upper air intake, refined and perfectly integrated in the bumpers volume and the head lights in vertical position, emphasize the important width of the vehicle.

Mazel Identity (3)

The side part is characterized by a new treatment of the surfaces, bringing together new design trends and classic solutions, which permits to obtain a product really different in relation to the solutions actually on the market. The doors, which are opening vertically, reinforce its extremely personal presence. Here, the perfectly integrated external mirror has a new lighting system developed by FICOSA.

The rear part, characterized by its separated rear lights and its remarkable lower engine cover part which is used as an air outlet conductor with a ventury effect, is easily recognizable from afar. This contribute to reach the purpose to make a car with an own, strong character.

Mazel Identity (4)

The interior, a two seats, has been developed against the traditional solutions searching a sporty elegance combined with a high sensation of space, using a new distribution of the internal mechanical components.

All the control components of the vehicle are situated in the central panel where the Shift by Wire and the Brake by Wire solutions have permitted a new distribution of the gear and hand brake in the interior of the vehicle. This solution gives a new drive sensation. These elements have been developed by FICOSA, who also cooperated with the realization of the design.

Rinspeed Splash

Rinspeed Splash (11)

Swiss design company Rinspeed, makers of the Rinspeed Splash have created a true sports car which transforms into a hydrofoil speed boat capable of a very respectable 50 mph on water. Because Rinspeed does not have the funding of large manufacturers the Splash’s styling has suffered, although this is partly due to the compromises necessary for the amphibious characteristics of the car, such as a narrow front end.

Transformation to a speed boat involves deploying a propeller at the rear, the large rear spoiler rolls under the car becoming the rear hydrofoil, and two hydrofoils integrated into the left and right sides of the splash swing down to form the front hydrofoils.  Naturally Rinspeed has constructed the Splash’s interior from waterproof materials.

Rinspeed Splash – A Dream Comes True
In what has become a fond tradition Rinspeed Design, the Swiss creative powerhouse for automotive concepts and emotions, presents yet another surprising and astounding attraction at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. To celebrate their 10th concept vehicle the Rinspeed crew has created the Rinspeed “Splash”.

Under the ultra-light carbon-composite skin lies much more than just an agile and lively sports car. The Rinspeed “Splash” is the true incarnation of a really cool and fun sports toy. At the push of a button a cleverly thought-out hydraulic mechanism transforms the sports car into an amphibious vehicle. But that alone wasn’t enough for Frank M. Rinderknecht (48), founder and boss of Rinspeed. A highly complex integrated hydrofoil system enables the “Splash” to ‘fly’ at an altitude of about 60 cm above the water.

On land, on water, and in the air
The almost magical transformation from a street vehicle into a floating and ‘flying’ all-rounder is made possible by an electronically controlled hydraulic system with an array of sophisticated sensors.
The transformation starts with the nondescript rear panel, which flips up to reveal a Z-drive in horizontal rest position, borrowed from a watercraft. The Z-drive is fitted with a conventional 3-bladed propeller and can be lowered to its fully ‘standing’ position from the cockpit. The position of the drive is infinitely variable, which guarantees immediate propulsion upon entering the water. A custom-designed transfer case sends power to the rear wheels, the propeller or both, depending on the input from the pilot. Starting at a water depth of about 1.1 meters the Z-drive can be lowered all the way to its fully ‘standing’ position. Steering commands are entered via the steering wheel and transferred to the Z-drive.
At a minimum water depth of about 1.3 meters the pilot can deploy a highly complex system of hydrofoils integrated into the sleek body of the “Splash.” The Formula-1 type rear spoiler rotates 180 degrees down and comes to rest below the “Splash.” To the left and right of the high side walls of the cockpit two hydrofoils integrated into the outside skin rotate 90 degrees to point straight down before unfolding into their lifting V shape.

Rinspeed Splash (9)

The angle of attack of each hydrofoil can be adjusted individually by the pilot to account for the various operating states. Already at low speeds the vehicle begins to lift itself out of the water. The fully suspended position can be reached at speeds as low as 30 km/h.  The unusual vehicle then travels as a true hydrofoil at an altitude of about 60 cm above the water. Even the wheels are free of water contact. On smooth water the “Splash” is capable of reaching a top speed of about 80 km/h (approx. 45 knots).

Naturally the “Splash” can also be operated as a ‘conventional’ amphibious vehicle. With retracted hydrofoils the “Splash” reaches a top speed of almost 50 km/h (approx. 28 knots). That is fast enough for water skiing or knee boarding. The body of the “Splash” is designed to be watertight. Additional buoyancy chambers provide extra lift. Also borrowed from shipbuilding are a bulkhead design with independent chambers and bilge pumps – in case some water does find its way into the cockpit or the engine bay. Fourteen rubber bellows guarantee freedom of movement of drive train, suspension and steering.

Compact natural-gas power from just 750 cm3
The “Splash” is powered by an environmentally friendly bivalent turbocharged natural-gas engine. Natural gas is an extremely clean-burning fuel that consists almost entirely of methane with near-zero sulfur content. The “Splash” is the world’s first amphibious vehicle to be equipped with this future-oriented engine technology.

Preserving the environment does not mean sacrificing driving fun – and neither does the low overall weight: The turbocharged two-cylinder four-valve engine from Weber Motor powers the watercrafts and snow mobiles from Polaris, albeit as a gasoline-powered engine. In its bivalent turbocharged natural-gas configuration the engine delivers a maximum power output of 140 hp/103 kW at 7’000 rpm. The peak torque of 150 Nm is available at a low 3’500 rpm. Street performance is nothing to be ashamed of: The 825 kg quick-change artist accelerates in about 5.9 seconds to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of 200 km/h.

Rinspeed Splash (8)

No bounds
The sleek lines of the “Splash” draw attention at first glance. However, one of the basic ideas behind the “Splash” concept was to design an automobile whose multi-functional capabilities are not immediately apparent. Hardly anyone will realize that the ‘soft-edge design’ “Splash” can fulfill the age-old child’s dream of almost boundless mobility at the push of a button.

The entire body of the “Splash“ consists of multi-layered carbon composite, a state-of-the-art plastic mainly used in Formula One racing. It offers exceptional stability at a low specific weight. The striking bodylines of the “Splash” are the expression of the fine art of engineering. The low windshield protects against drafts and its tinted Folia Tec glass contributes to the futuristic chrome look.

The sporty stainless-steel exhaust system from Remus provides the adequate powerful engine sound. The chrome-plated dual exhaust tips give the “Splash” a unique and highly dynamic rear appearance. The lightweight body sits on a suspension custom-developed by KW automotive. It features inboard shock absorbers, adjustable ride firmness and height. The suspension engineers succeeded in creating a suspension that represents a perfect synthesis of ride comfort and sporty handling characteristics.

Esoro
Frank M. Rinderknecht used highly advanced technology and a Swiss-based network of top automotive specialists for his project. Although there is no automobile production in Switzerland to speak of, there is a very active automotive supply industry there. Many highly innovative prototypes have been developed and manufactured in Switzerland^. engineered by Esoro – What you dream is what you get.

For the fifth time the Swiss engineering company Esoro was hired to serve as general contractor for the entire vehicle project. Esoro was responsible for project management, engineering, design and manufacturing of the Rinspeed Splash.

Esoro masterfully met the challenge with the help of its highly competent suppliers Naval (marine), Swissauto (drive train adaptation) and Protoscar (styling). Starting with initial concepts, it took the highly skilled development team just seven months to realize the entire project including tests on the road, on the water and in the “third dimension” by flying at high speed over a lake.

Esoro has been a contract developer in the areas of automotive production, lightweight design and plastics technology for 13 years. During this time it has gained a well-deserved reputation for excellent efficiency and innovative solutions not just in these but also in other fields, including fuel-cell vehicles and prototype design. Esoro has impressively demonstrated its expertise with numerous extraordinary prototypes.

And even more: Esoro developed the new E-LFT production technology, which makes large scale production of high-strength and lightweight composite parts affordable. E-LFT composite parts weigh 30-50 percent less than comparable steel parts. Furthermore another production process for similar parts, but small scale niche markets is near completion.

Gasmobil – A Strong Partner
The spread of natural gas as a fuel of choice is supported by the shareholders of gasmobil AG and local natural gas suppliers. Natural gas is a meaningful and environmentally friendly alternative fuel, which can make a significant contribution to the reduction of harmful pollutants, especially in congested urban areas. When combined with CO2-neutral biogas, the pollution emission levels are improved significantly. The most important arguments for natural gas and biogas as fuels: Lower pollution levels compared to gasoline or diesel; better mileage in hybrid versions and therefore also more economical, lighter and cleaner refueling; subsidies for the purchase of any new vehicle in some cantons; manufacturers’ guarantees; and vehicle safety similar to all other passenger cars.

Natural gas and biogas as the fuel of choice – the future is now
gasmobil, SwissEnergy and Rinspeed – three strong partners, who develop vehicles for everyday operation and future visions for mobility. The vehicles jointly displayed are fueled by environmentally friendly natural gas or biogas: the VW New Beetle Cabriolet uses standard drive train technology. The VW Golf Variant has a novel exhaust treatment concept, which was developed for gasmobil AG together with ETH Zurich, the Swiss Federal Department of Energy (BFE and SwissEnergy), the Paul Scherrer Institut Villigen (PSI), Automobil- und Motoren AG (AMAG), the den Industriellen Werken Basel (IWB), as well as the Gasverbund Mittelland AG as part of a Novatlantis Project entitled “An Innovative Vehicle Fleet For Basel”. The splash demonstrates that even unusual drive train concepts can be used both on the road and in the water every day.

Fuel supply – no problem in Europe
Employing natural gas and biogas means taking another step on the way to less crude oil dependence for the world’s economy. The tremendous environmental potential of natural gas cannot only be exploited in static use, but also by road vehicles to reduce harmful pollution levels from soot, nitrogen oxide, CO2, and hydrocarbons. Furthermore, natural gas motors reduce noise pollution levels compared to conventional units. These drive technologies are mature and market-tested. It is hard to find a manufacturer which does not have one or more models in its program. In addition to this, the gas station network in Switzerland and the rest of Europe is being developed rapidly. Round-the-clock supply is guaranteed.

LED tail lights and indicators
LED lights not only last longer and provide the same uniform light output, but also enable drivers to customize the illuminant. The designer LED tail lights in the Bedouin were already reason for excitement last year. These were slightly modified in.pro tail lights for the Opel Corsa that became available in the shops just a few weeks after the launch of the Bedouin. The Splash will also see LED indicators developed for the Alfa 147. Other LED light units such as, for instance, tail lights and side indicators will form the basis of the high quality and innovative series accessories available in the future.
