Skoda Roomster MPV

mjwqb4 Skoda Roomster MPV

VOILÀ! This is Skoda’s proposition in the popular compact MPV category. Although the Roomster production model holds the same name as the concept unveiled , its styling is less attractive and adventurous, and reminding us the Mercedes A-Class based Viano. Among others, the production model has lost the Saab style roof line and gained one more door on the driver’s side compared to the Roomster Concept as you can see in the pictures above.

The model range will include among others, 1,4, 1,6 and 2,0 litre MPI & FSI engines. According to sources in the VW Group, the Roomster will give birth to a crossover model based once again on a concept

Škoda Auto presents the first official picture of the new Škoda Roomster that is going to become the fourth model family. Not only does the Škoda Roomster represent the Škoda brand’s step towards a new market segment, but also a step towards a new development stage.
AFTER the official photos (see archive) , Carscoop managed to get exclusively, the first official information and specifications on Skoda’s all new compact MPV, Roomster, which intends to compete against cars like the Renault Scenic and Opel Zafira.

Czech…this out: Skoda Octavia Scout

01.0 Czech...this out: Skoda Octavia Scout

Skoda is entering the crossover territory with its new Octavia Scout that will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show. Nothing special, as differences between the stock Octavia Station Wagon and the Scout basically sum up to the slightly upraised ground clearance and a few plastic add-ons. If your still intrested and willing to pay a “few” euros more, market introduction for the Scout

Skoda Roomster Scout

These phone camera spy pics reveal that Skoda is working on an crossover edition of its new compact MPV, Roomster. Like the Octavia Scout, the Roomster Scout gets newly designed bumpers at the front and rear, body-colour side mouldings and profiled door sills. Protective strips on the wheel housings, sumpguard protection (front and rear) and the higher ground clearance complete the 4×4 package. But unlike its Octavia counterpart, I highly doubt that the Roomster Scout will get a 4×4 drivetrain.

After the premiere of the Octavia Scout in Paris , Skoda is adding a second crossover vehicle to its passenger range, the Roomster Scout. Compared with the basic Roomster the Scout differentiates itself thanks to SUV inspired design elements such as the new bumpers the plastic side covers. As you can guess, no 4wheel drive here as the Roomster Scout is a typical front-wheel drive MPV. In the interior, the dashboard comes in the Onyx/Onyx and Onyx/Silver versions and the seat upholstery material is identical with that in the Octavia Scout.

Skoda: All-new Superb to be unveiled

Superb Skoda: All new Superb to be unveiled

Skoda is getting ready to present its second generation mid-size sedan according to a report from Just-Auto. The revelation was made by Czech company’s global marketing director, Marcel Farreras who also added that the new Superb which will be built on an extended Octavia platform is part of a process of: “becoming more, not less, independent.”

Skoda’s UK director Chris Craft stated characteristically to Just-Auto that the Superb will be “developed for Skoda by Skoda. It will be more distinctive and stand-alone, less derivative and compromising with more unique technology.”

UPDATE: Skoda Superb Scoop Images

Carscoop SKSUP 10 UPDATE: Skoda Superb Scoop Images

A couple of hours ago we showed you a few scanned black & white images of the Skoda Superb. Apparently, those pictures where just the tip of the ice-berg as we managed to snoop out a whole set of images that give us a clear view of the Octavia’s big brother. And the from the looks of it, that’s the best description one can give to the 2008 Superb which dumps the 4door sedan body of the current version in favor of a Octavia-like 5door liftback body. Expect the Superb to be fitted with a wide range of 1.6 FSI, TFSI (1.8 or/and 2.0-litres), V6 FSI petrol and 1.9/2.0 TDI diesel engines when it goes on sale in a few months (June). Via: Idnes

Answer: You stick a “Special Edition” name-tag, throw in a couple of extras and cross your fingers hoping buyers will go for it…

GENEVA: Skoda Fabia S2000

Along with the “civilian” version Skoda also presented a racing study of its second generation Fabia hatch. The Fabia S2000 has been designed to comply with the new FIA Rally Regulations so as to compete in the IRC (Intercontinental Rally Challenge). In accordance with the regulations, the 4WD Fabia S2000 is equipped with a two-litre, four-cylinder normally aspirated petrol engine that delivers 280Hp.

GENEVA: Skoda Fabia "bi-colour" concept

Carscoop Fabia 1 GENEVA: Skoda Fabia "bi colour" concept

Well, not much of a concept since Skoda has announced that it’ll offer a white-painted roof for the new Fabia (photos below). Only difference is that this one draws its uniqueness due to the silver painted roof & mirror covers and the pearl-black body color. So, I guess at the Frankfurt show we’ll see a Fabia concept with a white colored roof “dressed” with the British err, sorry I mean the Czech flag?

Brisk RS 01 WRC: Prodrive Developed Skoda Fabia Coupe With A 500Hp 2.0TFSI Engine

Carscoop BriskFabia 0 Brisk RS 01 WRC: Prodrive Developed Skoda Fabia Coupe With A 500Hp 2.0TFSI Engine

Apparently this isn’t a typical road-going Skoda; it’s a unique rally car created by Czech spark-plug manufacture Brisk in collaboration with Prodrive. Albeit Brisk’s spec-sheet is available only in Czech, it doesn’t take a nuclear physicist to make ends meet.

Based on a first generation Fabia, the RS 01 WRC gets a coupe body that actually doesn’t look half-bad and a supped-up 2.0TFSI engine -yes, the same as in the VW Golf GTI and Audi S3 models among others, producing 500Hp @ 7.800 rpm and 600Nm @ 3.700 rpm. Combine that with a weight of just 1.000kg or 2.200 pounds and the 2.7 sec time for the 0 to 100km/h (62mph) that Brisk announces makes (some) sense.

According to the Czech spark-plug manufacture, the RS 01 WRC is ready to be tested in rallies both nationally and abroad. In addition, Brisk says that promotional events and test drives for journalists and the general public have been planned for the immediate future

“After the conception of the new Fabia hatch in March, Škoda will present the second generation of the Fabia Combi at the IAA Show that runs”. Now that’s what we call a detailed press release…

Not that we’re going to be depressed or anything, but we really don’t understand why Skoda is unwilling to release any information on the Fabia “hearse” before the Frankfurt Show opening. You don’t think that they believe we’re going to get all mushy and wet with the teaser image, do you?

Frankfurt Review: Skoda Fabia Greenline

Carscoop Skoda GL 0 Frankfurt Review: Skoda Fabia Greenline

Eco-badges were a “must” at this year’s Frankfurt show and VW’s highly successful Czech subsidiary was no exception baptizing its most eco-friendly and frugal models as “Greenline”. The first vehicles of this new line-up are the Fabia GreenLine and the Fabia Combi GreenLine both of which are equipped with a 79Hp 1.4 TDI turbo-diesel engine. According to Skoda, although the choice of extras has not been limited substantially, the new cars’ CO2 emissions do not exceed 110 g/km. Too bad the Czechs were similarly “frugal” when it came to choosing babes for their stand…

Skoda Considers Alternative Sites Outside Czech Republic

SkodaaCarscooop Skoda Considers Alternative Sites Outside Czech Republic

Skoda’s officials are facing a pleasant problem as sales of the VW Group owned company continue to rapidly grow. Skoda has already increased its Czech production capacity but that doesn’t seem to be enough. So, in order to satisfy increased demand in the European market, Skoda is searching for an alternative production site outside the Czech Republic.

Horst Mühl, Skoda production and logistics director, told Automotive News, “If capacity is not enough, we will look for alternative capacity”. He added, “It could be Bratislava, Slovakia, or another VW group site.”

The Volkswagen group’s Bratislava factory is located about 320km (200 miles) southeast of Skoda headquarters in Mlada Boleslav and it produces the VW Touareg, Audi Q7, a VW Golf model and the Porsche Cayenne (apart from the powertrain that’s adds in Leipzig, Germany).
According to Czech officials, while production was 430,000 units in 2004, this year Skoda will produce more than 600,000 units. What’s even more spectacular is the fact that Skoda recently raised its output forecast to 1 million cars in 2010 from an earlier reported 800,000.

Skoda Confirms Yeti SUV

VW’s Czech subsidiary has confirmed that it will introduce it’s first ever SUV model based on the 2005 Yeti Concept (picture). Production of Skoda’s fifth model line will commence in 2009 with the Czech carmaker stating that it will be manufactured in its Kvasiny plant in the Czech Republic. It has been suggested that the Yeti will borrow some key modules from VW’s Golf-based Tiguan SUV (click here), mixing them with hardware sourced from other models within the VW Group

ŠKODA YETI TO BE MANUFACTURED IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Production of Škoda’s fifth model line is due to start in 2009 and many new jobs will be created in the firm’s home country following this announcement. The Kvasiny facility, along with Škoda’s other plant in Vrchlabí, will be extensively modernised and expanded in order to meet the board’s aim of having three full-scale Czech factories by 2010.

Skoda Superb Testing In Death Valley

c skodspb 0 Skoda Superb Testing In Death Valley

Just like VW did with the Tiguan back in June, Skoda invited a handful of journalist to test out a development prototype of the all-new Superb in Death Valley, USA. Although initial rumors talked about a Frankfurt Show debut when uncamouflaged pictures were leaked into the net (click here), the second-generation Superb will make its first public appearance at the Geneva Show

Loosely based on the platform of the VW Passat, Skoda’s new flagship model will dump the 4door sedan layout of the current Superb in favour of a 5door notchback style body.
Targeted directly towards mid-size sedans like the Ford Mondeo, Opel Vectra and Renault Laguna, the new Superb will be offered with a wide range of diesel and petrol engines, including the 140Hp 1.4 TSI and 160Hp 1.8 TSI petrol units. Sales are expected to start shortly after the Geneva Show.

New Skoda Fabia Sport

cARSCOOP SKODAFBS New Skoda Fabia Sport

Czech carmaker Skoda unveiled a new addition to its U.K. Fabia line-up, the Sport which will sit atop the supermini range alongside the current Fabia 3 flagship. Compared to the standard versions, the Fabia Sport gets a new front spoiler, 16-inch alloy wheels, boot spoiler, a chrome exhaust pipe and rear diffuser. Prices start at £10,660 and £11,735 respectively for the 1.2 12V (70bhp) and 1.6 16V (105bhp) petrols. The diesel duo cost £12,115 for the 1.4 TDI (80bhp) and £12,795 for the larger 1.9TDI (105bhp).

Skoda Superb: First Official Picture

We’ve obtained the first official –and totally uncovered- image of the Skoda Superb sedan that will be presented at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show next March. According to the teaser release we acquired, Skoda supports that the second-generation Superb is going to offer “a generously-sized interior with a number of smart solutions and technologies”.

The Czech carmaker’s flagship model is loosely based on the same architecture as the VW Passat.

Unlike the current 4door model, the new Superb will get a more versatile 5door (liftback) layout like the smaller Octavia.
